Tasting Room Lead

We are currently seeking a Tasting Room Lead who, as part of the Tasting Room management team, takes responsibility for the supervision and mentoring of tasting room staff and ensure the St. Francis winery exceptional guest experience.  In addition, the Tasting Room Lead encourages the sales of wine and non-wine products.  This is a full-time position requiring the flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

Special Events Coordinator

We are currently seeking an experienced Special Events Coordinator responsible for all special event sales operations, guest relations, internal and external communications of all special events, as well as coordinating the execution of the event with staff and other departments.  Events include winery events, trade events, corporate lunches and/or dinners, cooking classes, and Wine Club events.  Enhances the Winery image by executing professional, organized, and quality oriented memorable events.

This is a full-time, exempt position with a Tuesday through Saturday standard work week.  Must be flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as event business dictates.

Hospitality Representatives

Openings for part-time, seasonal and on-call Hospitality Representatives to provide exceptional guest experiences to our Visitor Center guests consistent with our reputation for gracious Sonoma hospitality.  Must be knowledgeable of wines and wine production, at least 21 years of age, able to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends and holidays, and able to lift and carry up to 50lbs.

Servers and Bussers – Seasonal Part-Time and On-Call

St. Francis Winery & Vineyards has immediate openings for Servers and Bussers.  Positions are available for our day time food and wine pairing programs and evening special events located at our beautiful Sonoma Valley Visitor Center.

Commitment to providing exception guest service as well as prior experience and the ability to lift and carry up to 45lbs is required.

The following positions are available for the 2008 Harvest beginning early to mid-August and continuing through late November:

Cellar Interns – 7 positions

Cellar Interns will be involved in all standard crush activities including:

Receiving and crushing grapes

Racking

Sorting fruit

Blending

Press operations

Filtering

Pump overs

Cleaning and sanitizing

Punch downs

 

 

Successful candidates will have a strong work ethic and can-do attitude.  Previous industry education and experience is desired, but not required.  Candidates must be flexible to work varying shifts, overtime, weekends and holidays.  Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs, be at least 21 years of age and have reliable transportation.  This is a wonderful learning opportunity for individuals interested in a career in the wine industry.

Lab Interns – 2 positions

Lab Interns will be involved in all standard crush and lab activities including berry sampling, analysis of berry samples, determination of brix, ph and TA of all grapes at harvest, inoculations, enzyme and nutrient additions of all tanks, fermentation checks, yeast additions, ml bacteria additions at the press, complete chemical analysis of all finished wines, ml checks, residual sugar tests, as well as participation in cellar/barrel activities as needed.

Successful candidates will have a strong work ethic and can-do attitude.  Possess - or be working toward – a degree in Science and have prior lab experience.  Strong team-work, communications skills and proficiency in MS Office programs.  Candidates must be flexible to work varying shifts, overtime, weekends and holidays.  Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs, be at least 21 years of age and have reliable transportation.  This is a wonderful learning opportunity for individuals interested in a career in the wine industry.

Berry Sampler – 1 position

Using your own vehicle, travel among vineyards located from Kenwood to Healdsburg collecting berry samples and returning them to the lab for analysis.  Previous sampling experience very helpful.  Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs, be at least 21 years of age and have reliable transportation.

Artisan Winery Hand Sorters – 6 on-call positions beginning late Aug./early Sept.

PLACEMENT CONTINGENT ON DRUG/ALCOHOL SCREENING

After an offer of employment is made to you, placement in most positions* at St Francis Winery & Vineyards (SFW) is contingent on submission of a blood or urine sample for analysis to a licensed laboratory or clinic of SFW's choice.  All samples will be analyzed for presence of drugs or alcohol.  Positive test results could be the basis of a decision to extinguish the offer of employment.  Refusal to be tested, including a drug and alcohol screening test, refusal to submit a blood or urine sample for testing, or refusal to sign an authorization form will result in SFW withdrawing the offer of employment. SFW is an "at will" employer and satisfactory completion of a drug/alcohol screening does not guarantee continued employment.

*  Seasonal, temporary or on-call positions in Production and Vineyard are not required to take a post offer drug screening.
